"Luksong Baka" was a game we played as kids.

It starts with the “taya” crouching, and the other kids jump over the “taya” until he gets to the standing position.

The kid who fails to jump over becomes the next “taya.”

"Why not just take the shortcut?" It's a simple suggestion, yet it’s nearly impossible to achieve. Even when paths are paved for us, they come with rough textures and unforeseen detours.

Life rarely offers a smooth, straight line. We may pause, stumble, or feel stuck, but each twist and turn shapes our journey.

The series "PANLAKATON: Journey of Life from Solitude to Family" features three interconnected artworks. The central piece, designed to be installed both right-side up and upside down, symbolizes the transformative journey from isolation to community.

This painting is inspired by a woman named "Kira." She's a woman who is jolly, caring, and independent.

But behind this painting, the artist is a woman, and you cannot predict what she's thinking.

My acrylic pieces are rendered with acrylic paint without the use of any brushes. I use paint palettes to flatten the colors to achieve the splashes of the paint. I love the effects of it, it creates a story.

"Tender Dreams Wrapped in Hope" depicts a serene moment between a white, ethereal figure and a peacefully slumbering child. The gentle embrace conveys warmth and protection, while the Bible resting nearby symbolizes faith and guidance.

This piece was my entry to the 35th "Kulay sa Tubig" watercolor competition and was exhibited at Gallery Genesis at Estancia Mall, Pasig.

The withered leaves stand in for my former self. Even though the old me appeared lifeless and dry, I was nonetheless lovely. I'm prepared to let go of my old self and go toward my destiny.

Winter comes after autumn. I'm ready to endure the cold in exchange for the promise of a warm and colorful spring.

"The Fisherman's Art" is a vibrant and dynamic cubist masterpiece that celebrates the labor of the fisherman and the abundance of the sea. The canvas explodes with angles and textures, creating a fragmented yet unified composition that captures the essence of a fresh catch.

 This heavily textured painting, rendered in loose brushstrokes, depicts a green, invidious dragon. The emerald hues and rough impasto technique evoke a sense of jealousy, a natural human emotion the artist readily acknowledges.

The dragon's form, though imposing, is ultimately contained within the frame, suggesting an acceptance of this complex emotion.

The Bahay na Pula (red house) was constructed in San Idelfonso, Bulacan, in 1929. It was mainly made of wood and painted red on the outside, giving it its name. The house was surrounded by extensive gardens filled with tamarind, camachile, and duhat trees.

"She Deserves to Go Out" embodies a woman's confidence and quiet defiance who chooses to take up space, embrace the world, and bask in the sun on her terms. With her head held high and an air of self-assurance, she reminds us that going out isn’t just about being seen; it’s about reclaiming joy, movement, and presence.

When the Franciscans arrived in the Philippines in 1578, they built a church made of nipa, bamboo, and wood, which was inaugurated on August 2 and was dedicated to the Our Lady of Angels. On November 5, 1739, the cornerstone of a new church was laid. It was destroyed in the bombings of Manila during the Second World War.

The artwork represents the natural beauty of Bacolod women, the inner strength of Negrenses, and the spirit of optimism found in the Masskara Festival.

In the 1980s, Bacolod City experienced dark times. Its sugar business industry plummeted, and a luxury liner, MV Don Juan, sank carrying hundreds of passengers. Despite the tragic incidents, as a form of defiance, the Negrenses created the Masskara Festival to revive their industry and boost their tourism. Wearing their "smiles," they have faced adversities and succeeded.

Bacolod City was reinvented as the City of Smiles, and the festival is now celebrated annually.

The Quiapo Church is a 1933 replacement of an older structure destroyed by fire. One of Manila's best-known landmarks, Quiapo is the Black Nazarene's home. The religious image of Christ is believed to be miraculous. The life-size statue, carved from ebony, was first installed in Quiapo in 1767.
