Regino Jr. II Abiño stands as a beacon of creativity, a visionary freelance artist whose journey is distinguished by academic excellence and a commitment to using art as a powerful platform for advocacy. Graduated from the University of Santo Tomas College of Fine Arts and Design with the prestigious titles of Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian, he reflects a deep dedication and passion for the arts. Through his artistic journey, Regino aims to convey personal narratives and a worldview that leaves an indelible mark on the canvas.
Regino’s art comes from his experiences, what he sees in media, and stories from others. He intentionally makes his piece unclear, inviting viewers to think and reflect. By carefully choosing colors and arranging elements, he wants to evoke conversations about what his art means, in which his objective is to create space for individual interpretations. This enables each viewer to find a unique connection and give meaning to his artwork.
I make art open to interpretation, encouraging people to stay curious as they analyze it. I carefully consider elements like composition and color to spark discussions about my work’s meaning, aiming for each viewer to find their unique interpretations.
“Out for a Stroll” delves into the theme of prey and predator. He narrates a touching story of uncertainty and the consequences of impulsive decisions. Showing that having a child is not the mere solution to moving forward, the painting reveals the challenges and problems of this life’s decision.
The child feels threatened and uncertain about the future, portraying a vivid narrative of vulnerability within one’s supposed refuge. Regino introduces a surrealistic twist by prompting viewers to question the diverse interpretations of a safe space and twisting the standard idea of a “haven.”

Regino focuses on building a diverse and robust portfolio for future exhibitions. He envisions creating art that resonates with a niche audience, establishing a lasting impact within the artistic community.
Within the next five years, he aspires to pursue a master’s degree in fine arts and share his knowledge as a university professor.
