About the Artwork
"Panaginip" is a painting of my dreams done with water and poster color and finished in matte varnish.
One of my early works in college, it's a depiction of my dreams and nightmares. I was supposed to do a black and white print on paper using a rubber stamp, but I decided to paint my dreams as my subject.
The blood splatters and the scared eye is a rendition of witnessing a murder in one of my dreams, while the falling figure of a man and a leaping cat is the feeling of falling in a dream. The door with glaring eyes is when I dreamt of trying to escape by choosing a door to open.
Blends muted earthy colors with contrasting imagery of a serene profile, a black cat, and surreal floating elements. This composition fosters a surreal and introspective mood, invoking feelings of mystery and deep contemplation.
