About the Artwork

This artwork presents a delicate yet weathered paper airplane, seemingly suspended in time within a rustic wooden frame. The crumpled and stained paper tells a story of dreams once vibrant but now aged, symbolizing nostalgia, ambition, and resilience. The distressed wood, accented with strokes of gold, evokes a sense of history and imperfect beauty, framing the fragile aspirations of flight.

"Eroplanong Papel" reflects childhood dreams, perseverance, and the passage of time—capturing both the weight of reality and the lightness of imagination.

The use of neutral tones, light highlights, and the sharp yet organic folds in a simple geometric form create a contemplative and spatially thoughtful mood, fostering reflection and focus.

James Victor sees art as a way to capture emotions that words can’t fully express. His creative process often begins with a feeling or a story he wants to tell—sometimes, it’s raw and heavy, like a single tear frozen in time; other times, it’s about movement, dreams, and memories.

He loves working with different materials—allowing textures and forms to bring depth to my pieces.

Much of his work plays with contrast—light and darkness, fragility and strength—because he believes life comprises these dualities. He often experiments with unconventional elements, like framing something that refuses to be contained or letting a piece extend beyond its usual boundaries.

For him, art isn’t just about what you see—it’s about what you feel when you look at it.
