About the Artwork

An allegory of the resilience of man

One may argue that living organisms are on auto-pilot, hardwired to self-preservation, and naturally motivated to survive.

Humans went far and beyond just merely staying alive. We have evolved our planet through our constant exploration, superior adaptation, and humility to accept our vulnerabilities.

Through abstract thinking and self-consciousness, our intellect has propelled us to be the "alpha" here on planet Earth arguably.

Combines stark contrasts between dark and bright hues with intricate depiction of human anatomy and vivid elements of nature, evoking introspection and encouraging reflection on life and interconnectedness.

    Benedict has 5 artworks,
    and is available for
    commissioned work.

After surviving a near-fatal bout with pneumonia, John Benedict decided to start painting, wanting to have a tangible legacy. But that is not to say he has never expressed his artistic creativity earlier. The urge to “create” has been a constant feeling he had, even before the onset of puberty.

He is a fan of visual arts and design. From fashion to architecture, from furniture design to fine arts, these interrelated fields inspire him and fuel his creative genes.

His work has no agenda. It doesn’t try to be edgy, and it has no underlying or profound message about societal issues or the current mood of the public. What his work wishes to achieve is to bring its observer to a familiar place--one that is inviting, pleasant, and charismatic. Its purpose is to make a space a little more livable by elevating the overall mood. His subjects are mainly plant life and nature in general, mostly painted on large-size canvases.
