I painted this during a live figure painting session organized by the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists. Featuring model and artist Ms. Tsen, this painting was done on the spot in 10 minutes.

This watercolor portrait depicts Rajah Humabon, the King of Cebu, during Ferdinand Magellan's arrival in 1521, as seen at the Plaza Hamabar monument in Cebu. The artist skillfully captures the regal presence, depicting him with a dignified demeanor and details that convey his historical significance.

This original concept is the second "Sisa" I've made; I intend to make bigger versions of this in the future.

This picture has been a familiar scene for me for so many months in 2020. I had a lot of time to practice my art and spent many days creating and selling hand-painted bucket hats.

In a corner of my room, beside a window with sheer curtains, I would paint and spend my entire afternoon. 

This wonderful subject is not just an ordinary model or someone we hire to pose nude to become our subject. Her name is Maricar, and she was my lover.

She wanted me to sketch her nude. At first, I thought she wanted a piece of work, but when I finished the sketch, she gave it to me as a gift for my coming birthday.

I kept it safe all this time, hoping one day I could hang it on a wall for my art show. It's one of my favorite pieces with a lot more stories to tell.

"Lasigero," 2010

Her name is Ollah, a sheltered cat in a loose watercolor style. 

Ollah is one of the many dogs and cats that seek home. She is currently taken care of by the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), but it would be great if someone could take her home. 

"Suria" is the name of an Indian artist, a friend and a co-worker in Lulu, Dubai. He is from Kerela, a southern state of India.

We were doing a mural project during this time, and I sketched him while he was doing his work. 

Depicts the part in your life where you can't make sense of things, especially when it hurts you unexpectedly

In this painting, the subject lets the pain linger for a while for it to make sense to her. The situation feels suffocating, hence the only tiny window on top. It feels as if you cannot do anything but stare into nothingness; relive the false promises.

This is an integral part of healing. You learn a lot by acknowledging the loneliness and hurt you felt instead of running away and distracting yourself from it.
