"Winter" is part of my original "Four Seasons" series. It represents my admiration of nature and its changing conditions.

This piece reminds you that you can see beauty if you want to. Like the saying,“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

We decide what we see, and most often than not, I believe that we project what we are currently feeling, or sometimes, we project how we see ourselves onto others.

So be aware of your current state. If all you see is negativity, pause and reflect on yourself. Try to be at peace with yourself. If you aren’t happy with yourself because you see some flaws, know that these are part of your journey.

I used the "No Signal TV" concept as a blindfold. There was this time when I felt disconnected from everything; I was trapped in my own mind.

"Seeking Warmth" captures the essence of finding comfort in the sun's golden embrace.

"Halo-Halo" is an enchanting abstract painting that draws inspiration from the vibrant and diverse colors in the Filipino dessert, the Halo-Halo. The canvas bursts with a kaleidoscope of hues reminiscent of the delightful layers of ingredients that make up this beloved dessert.

The painting invites viewers to savor the beauty and diversity of the Halo-Halo experience, transcending the boundaries of taste and becoming a delightful feast for the eyes.

Inspired by my hometown, Baguio City, I wove Cordillera textiles into this piece, exposing raw edges and frayed threads. Sealed with varnish and glue to make it last. 

"Hiwaga ng Gubat" (trans: Mystery of the Forest)

It's an abstract exploration of the feeling of trance when you're in the middle of a deciduous forest looking up, surrounded by raw nature behind the gleaming morning sky.

The tree branch motif is a staple in my art, and this piece is a spiral of branches painted from the center. It also acts as a pseudo illusion of that trance-like feeling of getting sucked into it.

Raising of the Santo Niño during the Sinulog Festival--capturing the moment Christianity was introduced to the Philippines with color and patterns

The piece celebrates the vibrant and iconic Sinulog Festival, held annually in Cebu City every January. It highlights the moment when the Santo Niño (Child Jesus), the patron saint of Cebu, is displayed to the crowd by the Carnival Queen during the Sinulog dance.

Inspired by the bible verse Jeremiah 17:9, which says, “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who knows how bad it is?"

I was torn between "Here Comes the Boogeyman" or "Here Comes the Temptation" to be this artwork's title, but I agreed that the former is more appropriate and symbolic in a way that temptations are just like Boogeymen.

In the simplest definition, a boogeyman is a mythical entity with no particular appearance and largely varies across different households or cultures and is used by adults to scare children into good behavior. 

This boogeyman, which I depicted in my art, in particular, is the type that lives somewhere in our hearts or, better yet, is a part of our hearts, to begin with--one of the intrinsic qualities which makes us human, that's genuinely lesser of a god and causes us to be fundamentally vulnerable to deceit, flattery, and of course temptation, which eventually leads to sin.

This artwork beautifully depicts the expression of love as a vibrant and intricate tapestry adorned with a multitude of colorful threads.

It also touches on the theme of the beautiful Filipino culture of "harana" (serenade).

This weaves the two concepts that reflect  the beauty and complexity of love and the importance of this Filipino culture.

"I Dreamed About a Famous Clown Painting" (2024)

This piece reminds you that words can have great power over us. It can make or break us. In the same way, it can make or break others.

They say that hurtful words cut like a knife. Yes, they can hurt, but they can also heal.

So if you hurt someone or see someone hurt, you can use words to help that person’s healing process.

The painting style reflects the endangered status of the Visayan Leopard Cat, which is endemic to the Philippines.

The loveless queen does not represent someone who had been weakened or afflicted with pain simply because of being loveless. The mere fact of being confined to grief and solitude had even made her (him) more dignified.

Women deserves to be entitled to their own beauty and uniqueness.

This painting is my original work with the signature folds style, which I titled "Pahinga" to celebrate Women's Month.

It honors the contribution of women in our society and also raises awareness about violence against women in any form.

Lechon, especially from Cebu, is renowned for its crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat.

The artwork typically portrays lechon, beautifully roasted to a rich golden brown, often set in festive scenes, such as fiestas, family gatherings, or street markets.

"Free" is an original work of mine honoring and celebrating Women's Month.

This painting represents women in our society fighting for their rights and celebrating equality.

Painting has always been my therapy, and nothing soothes and calms my soul than mandalas. The freestyle process challenges me to push my creativity and opens up my senses, allowing more possibilities to flow and manifest.

It is simple yet profound—just like the artworks that filled the space. Each piece, a study in minimalism, depicted abstract landscapes, delicate flowers, and fleeting glimpses of human figures—lines that hinted at meaning but never gave too much away. 

This artwork is painted on canvas artist’s pad (400g/sqm.), an acrylic triple gesso primed acid-free paper suitable for oil and acrylic painting.

Though this type of flower is small, it captured my attention because of its brilliant yellow color. I've added patterns on some of the leaves to add excitement.

Popular street food ngoyong, a Filipino spring roll similar to Chinese ngohiong, is made with ground pork and vegetables, seasoned with five-spice powder, and deep-fried. 

The artwork depicts Cebu's vibrant colors and lively street scenes, bustling with food culture and the local love for this crispy, flavorful snack.

My artwork was a self-portrait attempt: a painting of myself wearing traditional Filipina clothing, looking at something from a distance while pondering what it means to be me, a Filipina in this day and age.

What does it mean to be “makabayan”—to have a love for the country and national self-identity?
