Here's another depiction of my "Katutubo" series that will give colors to that blank space of your home. I painted this portrait to give tribute to the indigenous people of the Philippines, who symbolize us as Filipinos.

My mom loves flowers, and so do I.

Whenever I see plants and flowers, I think of my mom. She's a beautiful soul and a "plantita" by heart. She inspires me to paint flowers, too.

I painted this orchid during the pandemic, inspired by my mom's orchid blooms in our garden.

This is a freehand Hamsa originally made for my best friend.

Jose Rizal, "talino" (in Baybayin) is a comic version of our hero as a doctor and author.

The text in Baybayin is written in gold ink and means "talino."

This artwork is also part of the designs for Salinlikha shirts.

The painting shows a woman that radiates fierceness. Women are as fierce as men. They are equal in all aspects.

It showcases the Magellan's Cross, a remarkable location that reflects the beginning of Cebuanos' strong faith.

Moreover, this painting highlights the well-crafted guitar, infused with Cebuanos' pride, which produces the distinctive music and sounds of Cebuanos' culture.

This is my first painting since my mother's recent untimely death. I was too depressed then, and I had dreamed my mom whispering to me, "not to waste my time anymore and think of my youngest," who was late in going to school on that same day.

I'm looking forward to making more paintings again and live with the living.

"Thor Puginson" is the God of Thunder in an alternate universe called "The Pugverse."

Despite his flabby stomach and tubby body, he is depicted as one of the most powerful members of the Aspugian race. With his enchanted bone-shaped Uru hammer, Mbonir, he channels his godly powers to summon lightning and storms.

His most iconic ability is to transform the rain showers into unlimited drops of roasted fried chicken.

This is part of my "Haring Agila" series, an ode to our national bird, The Philippine Eagle. The series was created in celebration of the 25th Philippine Eagle Week.

We all have dreams and goals in life. We strive to achieve them, to build the life we want.

Sometimes, though, when we're getting there, some things happen. Unexpected things, and unwanted things come our way and shake things up to the point would mess the beautiful picture we painted for our life. I've been there a lot of times. Well, even now, as I write this, I can easily list several unwanted things/happenings in my life.

I truly believe these challenges naturally let you let go of things that aren't good for you or the things that are the least beneficial to you to give way to things that will help you.

So when challenges come our way, accept them, focus on seeing what good we can get out of them, and believe that we can and will come out a better person with a better life.

Samantha Javier is a student artist focusing on the freedom of the hands to move and the freedom of colors to spread wherever they wanted to. She finds the light in every gloomy subject and darkness in every bright model. She discovered her talent at a very young age, actively engaged in school art competitions and clubs. At the age of nine, she immersed herself in the world of artistry and attended summer art classes to enhance and find new art styles. Recently, she became a member of the Pasig Art Club to inherit and constantly relive the art of the Pasigueños. Today, she can assist the mentors and guide the students in some of the art club's workshops.
