Sometimes we love hard and then eventually fall hard. We are ever ready to give all the love in the world to someone and leave not even a crumb of that love for ourselves.

But, falling in love is so beautiful that we let ourselves be indifferent to the grief that lies beyond heartache, more so heartbreak. That is what moved me to create this piece.

I painted a set of peonies for Mother's Day, hence, the title. Flowers symbolize love, gratitude, and appreciation and are the perfect representation of the sacrifices and care our mothers have provided us.

The notion of existentialism proceeds to ask everyone, including yourself, "Who am I? A soul? Or nothing but a body? A life beneath your skin? Or something more?

My mom loves flowers, and so do I.

Whenever I see plants and flowers, I think of my mom. She's a beautiful soul and a "plantita" by heart. She inspires me to paint flowers, too.

Five butterflies represent blessings, while five flowers represent self-love. 

The painting depicts a figure immersed in a muddy pond, their body partially obscured by the thick, earthy water. As they cleanse themselves, the mud flows away, revealing their skin as a symbol of purity.

The coronavirus has impacted many people’s lives around the world, including mine. But as the days have gone by, I've started to appreciate these circumstances by staying positive, and I want you to do the same. I thought I was affected so severely by the virus, but I realized there are so many people worse off than I am. There many people out there who have lost their jobs, the people they love, their homes, and so much more. So to the people who feel like their world has fallen apart, you’re not alone.  Remember, some people have lost a lot more. Instead of thinking about our quarantine as a "prison," we need to see it for the gift it is:  the gift of time. Focus on the positive.

Here's to the moments when we are brave enough to take a break, to leave places we used to call homes, and to strip ourselves bare of everything, even though we are shit-scared. Because in the end, we have nothing. Here’s to healing.

A rendition of a current event that resonates with me deeply.

The subject wears a teal ribbon to raise awareness and show support for survivors of sexual violence, with the hope they will eventually heal from their trauma and emerge like a pure and untainted lotus flower.

May this effort highlight that sexual violence affects individuals of all genders, ages, and ethnicities.

I love watching sunsets at the beach and getting lost in deep thoughts. After one particularly mesmerizing sunset, I felt this intense urge to paint. With each stroke, I tried to capture that moment in my mind--the fading light, the colors of the sunset, and the crashing waves. It was like pouring myself onto the canvas, creating a visual story of life's beauty and complexity in the most serene way possible.
