Anne Tulay, or “Tulayan,” found her passion in painting and visual poetry, where she inscribes her original verses onto her paintings. For her, visual arts and poetry are "windows to one's soul, a shameless voyeuristic display of emotions.” She renders visual poetry and traditional paintings in oil and acrylic; her style varies from realism and impressionism to abstractionism.

She has won several awards, including in the Art Wars and the 1st Yelcast Visual Poetry National Art Competition in 2020. She was also the Philippines’ representative at the 2023 Payakumbuh Poetry Festival in West Sumatra, Indonesia.

Anne, who graduated from the University of the Philippines (College of Fine Arts), was an overseas foreign worker in the Middle East for over a decade and a world traveler.

Her every attentive and delicate brushstroke renders an intricate mix of a resilient journey, past, present, and future yet to be told—a secret message from her to the viewer.
