About the Artwork
The most powerful action of a woman is to love herself, be herself, and shine among those who do not believe she can.
“When She Blooms,” painted in vibrant colors, reflects the powerful womanhood. This piece is about a woman finally accepting and loving herself completely. She blooms into a better version of herself—strong, confident, and free.
Soft pastel tones, gentle contrast, and the amalgamation of florals with a human figure create an atmosphere of harmony and tranquility, while conveying a deep sense of self-expression and gentle introspection.

Susana Felicidad is a registered medical technologist and a professional visual artist in General Santos City. She has been creating art since she was a child, but she started pursuing it professionally in late 2019 and continues to do so today.
Her creations are inspired by collective and personal experiences and emotions. Her art primarily explores themes of self-love, femininity, and healing. She works in a style she calls abstract realism, a fusion of abstract and realism that showcases the beauty of abstract art without sacrificing recognizable images. She paints with a technique she describes as "controlled accidents," where she creates brush strokes freely.
Before beginning a new piece, she meditates to stimulate her imagination and creativity. She also makes art studies partnered with research and inspiration-hunting. When she experiences creative blocks, she rests, draws random doodles on her sketchbook, or watches videos of other artists creating to reignite her passion.
Some of her works have been featured in notable local and international art scenes, including the ASEAN Youth Forum Yuwana Zine 5th Edition, Mindanao Art Fair 2021, Tam-Awan International Arts Festival, Daloy Likha Magazine (March 2022 Edition), Luna Galleria's Transmission International Art Exhibit, and Mindanao March 2023. She has been recognized as one of the emerging artists of SOX. In the first Art Show Philippines Mentorship Program in 2021, she received the highest grade and was awarded Outstanding Mentee.
Her paintings have been sold locally and internationally, with collectors in the USA, Canada, and Japan.
