About the Artwork

This piece has a political background. I made this during the imposition of a bill here in the Philippines (I will not name it). The bill was criticized, and I felt the need to transform the public's view towards it. Hence, this painting was born.

Drezel is an accountancy student, but she knew she had an artistic side since she was a kid. During her exploration process, Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, and Guan Tong became her role models and influences. As an artist, she's more of a mysterious person. That's why her art style is "expressionism." She likes how people see her art and try to rationalize what's in it as if it's a code they're trying to decipher. She considers her art as a mirror: it's a reflection of the people who see it. It is what they're trying to describe--themselves.
