About the Artwork

This painting was inspired by the "Legend of the Minotaur" and asks, “Are villains born or made?”

Yet to know the concept of good and evil, how did the newly-born Asterios become the famous man-eating monster of Greek mythology? Did he experience discrimination, being treated as a monster instead of a prince, growing up? Perhaps he ate the sacrifices sent to the labyrinth out of survival, who knows.

Through its muted earthy tones and surreal combination of human and animal forms, evokes curiosity and introspection, prompting deeper discussions about identity and duality.
