About the Artwork

This painting feels like a silent cry frozen in time. A single eye, barely emerging from the darkness, sheds a thick, golden tear that stretches downward, heavy with emotion. The background swirls with deep black and gold, like a storm of feelings—grief, longing, or quiet resilience.

Something is haunting yet beautiful as if the tear isn’t just sadness but something precious that must be felt. It speaks of pain but also of strength—the way we carry our sorrow, letting it shape us without letting it break us.

Deep shades of brown and black dominate, with a dramatic contrast introduced by white and yellowish tones. The composition evokes an intense emotional resonance, drawing focus to the tear-like element that symbolizes sorrow and contemplation.

James Victor sees art as a way to capture emotions that words can’t fully express. His creative process often begins with a feeling or a story he wants to tell—sometimes, it’s raw and heavy, like a single tear frozen in time; other times, it’s about movement, dreams, and memories.

He loves working with different materials—allowing textures and forms to bring depth to my pieces.

Much of his work plays with contrast—light and darkness, fragility and strength—because he believes life comprises these dualities. He often experiments with unconventional elements, like framing something that refuses to be contained or letting a piece extend beyond its usual boundaries.

For him, art isn’t just about what you see—it’s about what you feel when you look at it.
