About the Artwork

The roundabout was built in 1948, with a marble monument designed by Luciano V. Aquino. It was erected at its center to welcome visitors to Quezon City, which was then the Philippines' newly declared capital. The monument is surrounded by four lions indicating the cardinal directions.

Bold and varied colors bring energy to the urban landscape. A bright sky contrasts with bustling city life, capturing a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
