About the Artwork

An artist's interpretation of "El Filbusterismo," Chapters 6 and 7

"Quos Laeserunt et Oderunt" is a scene of character rediscovery, where Simoun slowly succumbs to adhering to violent means to send his message.  It is where he left everything at the end of the novel "Noli Me Tangere," and this is where he will start his insurrection.

This is a representation of Simoun bordering between personal vengeance and his nonchalant revolution.

Focused use of dark tones, deep contrasts, and the soft glow of the lantern creates a mysterious and suspenseful mood, emphasizing the sense of exploration or secrecy.
