About the Artwork

Mr. Juan Tilaok is the personification of Bacolod cuisine. The artwork illustrates how being available and adapting to the times helps the local food of Bacolod remain popular. The most popular ones are chicken inasal, piaya, and kansi. The artwork is also a tribute to JT's Inasal's proprietor; the character's name or title is derived from the initials of his name.

(The artwork is on display at JT's Manukan Grille, 32nd Ave., BGC, Taguig City, from Jul. 14 to Oct. 15, 2023.)

and is available for
commissioned work.

Jason Ray is a freelance graphic artist and painter. He has graduated with an advertising degree but making paintings, drawings, and sculptures is more of his passion. He also took a master's degree in fine arts that focuses on painting and sculpture. More into stylized and abstract art, his works are  inspired by his childhood experiences in the province and his favorite songs, stories, movies, or series. He mainly uses acrylics for painting, which he finds very flexible, durable, and comfortable to use since it has a faster drying time and uses less mineral spirits than oil. Before he starts painting, he does around five studies, and then he combines the best elements. He does multiple layers to ensure solid colors; he is meticulous when making lines.
