About the Artwork

"Kalendaryo," 2021, ink on cotton, burned (framed)

Days started to swiftly pass by, burning since the pandemic and mandated lockdowns erupted, and  degraded into ashes of mostly wasted time in any perspective you can think of (political, societal, economical, individual, etc.). With almost pure disorganization, intransparencies, and incoherences in the colorfully shattered background of the world.

I figured to make a simple artwork out of it with literal depictions of the concepts' summarization: a common household calendar burning with chaos and incoherence in its shattered background. The artwork is printed on 100% cotton and framed to be hanged on walls.

Using fiery reds, oranges, and sharp contrasts against white and black, amplified with symbolic imagery, evokes a feeling of urgency and chaos. The abstract depiction combined with the calendar delivers an intense mood reflecting social unrest or change.

    Edmond has 2 artworks,
    and is available for
    commissioned work.

About his creative process, Edmond does what his reason asks him to do. And sometimes, he wanders to where the brief absence of it leads him. His pieces are free of any specific theme, though often revolving around an 'al' suffix. He depicts thoughts and concepts through symbols, subjectivities, and derivables, like most artists.
