About the Artwork

In the twilight's embrace, a lone boat glides upon the sea's gentle whispers. An old woman, cradling fruits of memories, gazes at the horizon where the sun bids farewell. In the background, a fisherman casts his net, a silent ode to her late husband, now in heaven.

"Kahidlaw" speaks of love transcending time, of moments cherished and missed. It's a tale of longing whispered by the sea, echoing the eternal bond between souls parted yet forever intertwined on canvas.

Rich earthy tones and soft contrasts evoke a connection to pastoral life, blending a sense of labor and calm. The detailed depiction of the figures fosters nostalgia for a simpler, hardworking life.

    and is available for
    commissioned work.

Kriszia Claire is a contemporary visual artist. She uses her artwork to portray issues in society, everyday life, personal experiences, political and cultural issues.

When she was nine years old, she was introduced to art when she happened upon a public art exhibit that started an art program for street children. She was intrigued and joined the Kabataang Sining Kulay community from Cagayan de Oro. That's when she discovered her love for art, and she's been making "stuff" and "messes" with whatever materials she could find ever since.

She still does that today, but it's called mixed-media art. For her, mixed media is enjoyable because it can take many forms.

She now teaches art classes to her grade school art students and conducts a free workshop in her small Lugait, Misamis Oriental community.

She believes not everyone can become a great artist, but great artists can come from anywhere.

She has participated in various art competitions and was one of the Marawi "Sining ang Pag-asa" volunteers during the Marawi Siege 2017.
