Mark Oliver became interested in the arts and design when he was in high school. What caught his attention was how his MAPEH instructor taught the class about the different art movements and techniques. Since then, he's been captivated when his school projects encourage creativity and innovation, which is why he took architecture in college.
Still a work in progress, Mark Oliver believes there are still rooms for improvement he should focus and work on. He continues to learn from the different perspectives of his professors and peers. He aspires to share his acquired knowledge and skills by teaching younger students in an academic environment.
He's always been fascinated with the history of architecture and the environment. Before the pandemic, he traveled with his family, exposing him to different cultures' structures, styles, designs, and perspectives. It made him realize that history can leave a significant impact on how infrastructures develop in a country.
Unfortunately, many historical and remarkable designs and structures are being replaced and restructured because of the progress in culture and advancement in technology. This has enlightened him that art and architecture have a sense of responsibility in preserving history and culture.
