Before I drift into sleep, I imagine myself walking in a vast empty plain toward the only tree for as far as the eye can see. There are vague mountains in the distance. A full moon staring at the viewer often completes this mental journey.
Using rich dark tones and contrasts between the red bushes, muted earth shades, and a luminous moon, creates a sense of intrigue and otherworldly stillness. The swirling textures and atmospheric layers enhance the enigmatic composition.

Hoche graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Painting from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts in 1995. His creative process is one of exploration, often in abstract and landscapes. He had held various exhibits, with his latest at the GSIS Museum of Art, titled “Start at Some Point."
He paints in oil and watercolor, and he never knows exactly what it will look in its finished stage because he often changes directions. He likes the fact he's often surprised at what he comes up with. It’s like embarking on an uncertain adventure, where the destination is not always what he hoped for.
