About the Artwork

The artwork is dedicated to my grandmother. She used to go around her village and nearby barangays on foot selling fish. It was her primary source of living. And many people liked and loved her.

I got to experience being with her while she was selling fish. We even traversed the woods; as a child, I didn't pay attention to anything. But now that I think of it, it was a beautiful experience.

Janelle has 11 artworks

Janelle is a teacher, but she's been interested in art ever since. The young Janelle used to draw her favorite characters to ease her boredom during her school break. When she was in a university, she used to visit a local mall to watch a talented artist painting for hours. Sometimes, that artist would teach her some basic concepts in painting.

Most of her artworks are from the visual images she typically sees or imagines before going to bed or in her dreams.
