Asia Pacific Print Club Holds Traveling Exhibition in the Philippines

Asia Pacific Print Club, a group of printmakers across the Asia Pacific, will be in the Philippines for their traveling exhibition’s third leg, ready to captivate art enthusiasts.

The event will take place at the Gravity Art Space in Quezon City from Feb. 23 to March 23, 2024.

The traveling exhibition started in December 2023 at Uma Seminyak in Bali, Indonesia, and the second leg took place at Jojo Kobe Gallery in Thailand last February.

In the previous two exhibitions, the organizers showcased the works of Filipino printmakers, such as Angela Silva, Elmer Borlongam, Plet Bolipata, William Matawaran, and Alynnah Macla-Tadeo.

The Philippines’ exhibition features six printmaking studios across Southeast Asia: Black Hand Gang, Krack Studio, Chiangmai Art on Paper C.A.O. Studio, Jojo Kobe, Rolling Paper Press, and Pasilyo Press.

The Asia Pacific Print Club also invited printmakers and print studios from the Philippines, including Don Kusuanco of Rolling Paper Press, Jone Sibugan of Overinked Studio, and Marz Aglipay of Marz Today Studio.

This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate printmaking talents in Southeast Asia.

She hopes the exhibition will inspire and connect art lovers from all over the country.

Aside from the participating studios and Gravity Art Space, this event has been made possible with Metrobank Foundation and Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE).

The exhibition opens on Feb. 23, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Gravity Art Space.

A demo day is set for Feb. 24, 2024, from 2 to 5 p.m., where the participating print studios will teach different printmaking techniques.

The Gravity Art Space is located along Mother Ignacia Ave., Diliman, Quezon City.

Admission is free for artists, PWD, and Senior Citizens—a fee of PHP 20 for students and PHP 50 for the regular rate.
