POP CULTURE Features FilipinoArtPH

PTV Philippines crew interviews featured artist August Punzal.

PTV Philippines’ lifestyle program Pop Culture has featured the launch of FilipinoArt.ph, an online marketplace dedicated to showcasing the art of seasoned and emerging Filipino visual artists.

Six artists from the Philippines’ capital and major tourist destinations were featured at the launch, which also coincided with the physical exhibition Sariling Sining: A Showcase of Filipino Contemporary Art. Each artwork evoked varied emotions by exploring local cultural influences with distinctly Philippine themes.

Cubist Hermel Alejandre from Camarines Sur; expressionist Pamela Lei Bermudez from Las Pinas City; expressionist Jose Ehric Egualada from Boracay Island, Aklan; portrait artist Ryan Orig from Iloilo City, and abstract artist August Punzal from Taytay, Rizal, were among them.
